Q&A: How to maintain a laser dust collector
What should I do before using a laser dust collector?
1.Inspect the filter chamber and filter cartridge of the laser fume extractor. Regularly check for accumulation of dust, moisture, or rust spots in the filter chamber and filter cartridge. If any of these issues are present, it indicates that the filter cartridge is damaged and should be replaced promptly.
2.Check the pneumatic air valve. This can be determined based on the daily operational status. Inspect whether the inlet and outlet air pipes are connected correctly; if reversed, switch them. If the issue persists after switching, then check if the solenoid valve is damaged.
3.Inspect the electronic control components. Unlike other parts of the fume extractor laser cutter, electronic control components do not require regular maintenance. They can be inspected and repaired during downtime to ensure their proper functioning.
4.Check the maintenance door. Leaks in the maintenance door are typically caused by improper fastening or issues with the sealing gasket. Properly fasten the maintenance door, replace aging or deformed sealing gaskets to address leaks in the maintenance door.
Why is it necessary to regularly replace the filter cartridge of the laser dust collector?
1.Maintain filtration efficiency: Laser cutting fumes contain many harmful particles, such as smoke, metal particles, and chemicals. The filter cartridge captures these particles, preventing them from entering the air. Over time, the filter cartridge will become gradually clogged with particles, reducing the purifier's filtration efficiency and thereby affecting its effectiveness.
2.Extend equipment lifespan: A clogged filter cartridge places additional strain on the purifier's internal fan, potentially leading to fan overheating or malfunction. Regularly replacing the filter cartridge can extend the purifier's lifespan.
3.Protect user health: Particles and chemicals in welding fumes can pose health risks to workers. Regularly replacing the filter cartridge ensures that the fume extractor portable can continue to effectively remove harmful particles, thereby reducing the risk of employees being exposed to these hazardous substances.
4.Maintain operational efficiency: In a welding environment, the efficiency of the purifier directly affects the comfort of the working environment and the productivity of employees. Regularly replacing the filter cartridge can keep the purifier in good working condition, ensuring that it can effectively purify the air.
Can I add a fan to the front of the laser dust collector?
No, you can't. There are 2 reasons for you:
1.The design of laser cutter fume extractor has concluded the relationship between the filter area and the fan.
The additional air will destroy the original design balance, which is easy to cause blockage of the filter cylinder then affect the purification effect. Too fast wind will put more pressure, increasing the risk of the filter cartridge being blown. Finally, the purification effect is greatly reduced.
2.It will adversely affect production efficiency.
Installing the fan may be good, but this way will cause the cylinder clogging progress. Then you have to clean and replace filter frequentl. It will shorten the service life of the filter cylinder, and increase maintenance costs and downtime.
How to maintain laser cutter fume extractor in daily work?
1. When opening laser dust collector, you should avoid objects with open flames (such as burning paper scraps, cotton yarn, cigarette butts, etc.) from being sucked into the dust removal equipment.
2. For spanning service life, you could check laser fume extractor and its parts regularly.
3.In any case, the external power supply must be completely disconnected for any maintenance. Live maintenance with power supply is strictly prohibited.
